Added By: admin Are there Apparel Conventions for Plus ...

I’m looking to start a Plus Size Clothing store and I’m having a hard time trying to find information on where to find plus size wholesalers or conventions in the Chicago area where I can buy from the wholesaler.

Can anybody help me out with this situation?

There a a few fantastic websites that have great info on plus size designers however it will leave you scouting the corners of the earth to find some of the better ones.
In my experience many of them are online!

Do some serious searching, and if you come across a site whose clothing you like… just contact them, most online retailers are open to chatting about wholesale options.

Here is a list I recommend to start you off!
Plus Model Mag - check out their Fashion Directory
Curvety - UK online store
Full Figure Plus - Blog
Lil’ Mama - Australian online store
Missphit - US online store
Make sure you look at the plus size blogs out there too!

If you want to open a store don’t be afraid to contact international designers, who on most occasions be keen to be stocked by someone like yourself.

Also take a look at Infomat which lists all the major fashion shows/buying events in the US, UK and Europe.
(I listed all the links below for you)

Good Luck!!!!!!

You might try checking out eBay for wholesale lots and from there maybe you can ask you question to those dealers…

Google the MAGIC convention - it features big and tall for men and plus sizes for women each year.

Also, visit http://www.curvychick.com - it’s the home of the new plus size fashion and style magazine called Bombshell that is coming out soon!
